Pic: King's Consort as a foal
He might not have got the win at Flemington on Saturday, but 2YO King's Consort ended his campaign as a star in the eyes of everyone at Leneva Park.
King's Consort was bred and raised at Leneva Park and is the first horse bred under our banner to hit the race track - and what an amazing first campaign it has been!
Bred by head trainer Sarah Beaumont and rider Joel Walton, King's Consort is by Ilovethiscity out of the Snitzel mare Peckish - a mare admittedly with a pretty ordinary pedigree, but clearly a knack for producing a slick racehorse.
Her first foal Indiana Rose won her first start before injury ended her career, but King's Consort has more than capitalised on the family talent under the expert tutelage of Anthony and Sam Freedman.
Sold for $32,000 to the Freedman's at the 2021 Adelaide Magic Millions Sale, King's Consort is showing a stack of promise.
The winner of the $1million The Showdown at Caulfield in April, King's Consort was fourth in the G3 South Australian Sires Produce in May before a strong second placing in the Listed Gibson Charmichael Stakes.

The entire team at Leneva Park is incredible proud of what King's Consort has achieved to date and we cannot wait for him to resume during the spring. A huge congratulations to his ownership group and to Anthony and Sam Freedman.
